MICHELLE MUNROE REID
Michelle Munroe Reid is a Guelph-based singer/songwriter. She began her solo music career with Hillside Festival’s Girls & Guitars Program (2019, 2022 & 2024) which has helped her find her voice and write and perform her first songs. New to performance, when pandemic restrictions were lifted, she embarked on a self-proclaimed ‘Open Mic World Tour’ and since then has spanned southern Ontario to Calgary, collecting many stories and new friends along the way. Now, years later, she tenaciously continues to develop her craft as a songwriter and performer and is currently working her first recording project. Accompanied by her old faithful acoustic guitar, Michelle has been described as an ‘arresting performer’ with a classic alt-country sound (Joel Schwartz, Composer,Music Producer and Guitarist). Former Hillside Executive Director (Marie Zimmermann) described her as “having a rare combination of creativity, honesty and humility that will startle an audience into listening. She lives in Guelph with her husband and three dogs.
